Does the SAT get you into a German university?
Short answer: no. Germany's admission routes for US applicants are AP exams, college credits, or a Studienkolleg. The SAT is not one of them. Here is what to do.

No. DAAD's admission routes for a US applicant are a high school diploma with the right AP exams, a diploma plus about two years of US college, or a Studienkolleg. SAT and ACT are not among them, so even a strong SAT score does not replace the qualifications those routes require. If you have been told a high SAT score is enough, check that advice against DAAD's current requirements. What qualifies you is the AP or college route, or a Studienkolleg.

The SAT is not an admission route
SAT and ACT do not appear among DAAD's admission routes for US applicants.
AP exams are the direct route
Five AP exams at grade 3 or better give direct admission to any field; four can qualify you for subject-specific admission.
Otherwise, the Studienkolleg route
Without AP exams or college credits, the route is a Studienkolleg and its exam.
