Applying to Germany from Pakistan: the documents uni-assist actually asks for

Most Pakistani files are held up by the same two things: the HEC attestation on your degree, and the wrong grade on the form. Here is uni-assist's own Pakistan checklist, and what each line means.

Short answer

uni-assist's Pakistan page asks for three things, and one of them trips most applicants. Your degree certificate must carry the Higher Education Commission (HEC) attestation stamps. You must state the minimum CGPA or percentage your university needs to award the degree, not the pass mark for a single course or semester. And your school-leaving certificates, matric and intermediate, must come with an overview of subjects and grades. Whether your certificate gives direct admission or needs a Studienkolleg first is decided per certificate in anabin, so check yours there. uni-assist does not list an APS for Pakistan, but an APS is separately reported at the visa stage, so confirm that with the official APS office before you apply.

  • No HEC attestation, no complete file. uni-assist asks for your degree certificate with the HEC attestation stamps. Without them the document is not accepted as attested.

  • The grade most people get wrong. uni-assist wants the minimum CGPA or percentage your university needs to award the degree, not the mark for passing a course. The wrong number here is a common hold-up.

  • Your route is knowable before you pay. Whether you enter directly or take a Studienkolleg is decided by your exact certificate in anabin, which you can check in advance.

not the mark for passing a single course or semester [1]

  • School certificates

    Matric and intermediate

each with an overview of subjects and grades [1]

uni-assist does not list an APS for Pakistan. An APS is separately reported at the visa stage through the APS office for the region, so confirm your own case with that office. The final admission decision is the university's.

Bottom line

Your uni-assist application from Pakistan stands or falls on two documents: the HEC-attested degree, and the correct minimum grade to award it. Get those right and the file is complete; your route then depends on what anabin says about your certificate. [1][3]

uni-assist's Pakistan page names the HEC attestation and the minimum-grade-to-award document explicitly, and anabin is the authority on whether a certificate gives direct admission.

Attest your degree with HEC before you submit, take the minimum award grade from your university's regulations rather than the course pass mark, check your certificate in anabin, and confirm any APS requirement with the official APS office.

The HEC attestation is the line that holds files up

uni-assist's Pakistan page is specific: it asks for your degree certificate including an overview of subjects and grades, with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) attestation stamps. An unattested degree is not treated as complete, so the attestation is not an optional extra.

HEC's attestation moved to a digital process, so start it early. The stamps have to be on the document uni-assist sees, which means attesting before you submit rather than after a request comes back. [1]

The grade uni-assist wants is not the one most people send

uni-assist asks for the minimum CGPA or percentage your university needs to award the degree, and it says plainly that the minimum grade for passing a single course or semester is not sufficient.

These are different numbers. The mark to pass a course is not the mark to be awarded the degree, and sending the first where the second is asked is a routine reason a Pakistani file is queried. Take this figure from your university's own regulations. [1]

Direct admission or a Studienkolleg: anabin decides

Whether your certificate lets you apply directly or means a Studienkolleg first is not a blanket rule for Pakistan. It is decided by your exact certificate, and the authority is anabin, the KMK database of school qualifications and their access to higher education.

Check your own certificate in anabin before you assume either route, and confirm the language of any Studienkolleg place you are considering. [3]

APS: not on uni-assist's list, but ask the official office

uni-assist's own APS glossary names three countries where an APS certificate is required to apply: China, Vietnam and India. Pakistan is not on that list, and uni-assist's Pakistan page does not ask for an APS.

Separately, an APS requirement for Pakistani applicants is widely reported at the visa stage through the APS office for the region. Because that sits outside uni-assist's list and we could not confirm it against the office directly, do not take a yes or a no from anyone selling you a service: confirm your own case with the official APS office before you apply.
