A US high school diploma on its own does not qualify you for direct admission to a German bachelor's. Depending on your record, the routes are qualifying AP exams, prior US college study, or a Studienkolleg followed by the Feststellungsprüfung.

DAAD's routes are a diploma with the right AP exams (five for any field, or four for a subject area), a diploma plus about two years of US college, or a Studienkolleg and its exam if you have neither. Your unweighted GPA must be at least 3.0, and online, homeschool and GED diplomas are not accepted.
